Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 an election for the purpose of electing a mayor and town council, (Place 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5) for the Town of West Point, Alabama will be held, and that all registered and qualified electors of the state, who reside within the corporate limits of West Point Alabama, and have resided therein for thirty (30) days or more immediately preceding the date of the election, and who are qualified to vote in the county precinct which embraces and covers that part of the corporate limits of the Town of West Point in which the elector resides, will
be authorized to participate in the election.
The polls will be opened at 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the WEST POINT TOWN HALL. 3990 County Road 1141, Cullman, AL 35056.

If necessary a run-off election will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.
The Mayor is hereby authorized, directed and empowered to give notice of the time and purpose of such municipal election by publication one (1) time of June 10, 2025 at the West Point Senior Center, West Point Pharmacy, Brandin Iron Restaurant and www.westpointalabama.com.
Candidates may begin qualifying for office on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. The last day on which a candidate may qualify by filing a statement of candidacy with the Town Clerk shall be Tuesday, June 24, 2025 by 5:00 p.m.
The Absentee Election Manager shall accept applications by qualified electors for absentee ballots beginning on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. Regular absentee applications by mail must be received by the Town Clerk on or before August 19, 2025, and applications returned by hand must be received
no later than August 21, 2025. August 25, 2025 is the last day for a voter to apply for an emergency absentee ballot. Absentee ballots may be returned by band delivery if delivered to the absentee ballot election manager, no later than the close of the business at 5:00 p.m. on August 25, 2025. Absentee ballots returned by mail must be received for 12:00 noon on August 26, 2025.
The council shall meet the West Point Town Hall at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 for the purpose of canvassing the results and declaring the results of the election. The record of the results of the election shall be recorded in the minutes and proceedings of the Council and when so recorded shall be conclusive evidence of the matters therein stated and the validity of the election contested as required by law.
That a run-off election, if required shall be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.
If a run-off election is required, the West Point Town Hall at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 for the purpose of canvassing the results and declaring the results of the run-off election. The record of the results of the run-off election, if required, shall be recorded in the minutes and proceedings of the Council and when so recorded shall be conclusive evidence of the matters thein stated and validity of the run-off election, unless contested as by law.
Except as otherwise specifically provided herein, said municipal election and run off, if required, shall be conducted, the votes canvassed, and the results declared in the same manner as provided by Chapter 46, Title 11 of the Code of Alabama (1975, as amended).
This Ordinance shall take effect as provided by law and shall be implemented pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 46, Title 11 of the Code of Alabama (1975, as amended).
The Town Clerk is hereby authorized, directed and empowered to cause this Resolution to be published one (1) time at the Town of West Point town Hall, West Point Pharmacy, Brandin Iron Restaurant and www.westpointalabma.com.
